Escape Rooms: How It Works & What To Expect

The Escapology experience is like no other. It’s fun, it’s educative, and it’s an adrenaline-filled adventure. If you are thinking of coming by for the first time to try it out, chances are that you are wondering what to expect and how the whole thing works. To help you out a little, we have prepared this post to enlighten you on what to expect once you pay us a visit. Check it out.

Choosing a room

The first step when trying out the Escapology game experience is to choose a room. Currently, our Fort Lauderdale, FL, facility boasts six adventure rooms. These are: Cuban Crisis, Arizona Shootout, Antidote, Budapest Express, Shanghaied, and The Code. All these offer a different type of experience based on events that took place in different parts of the world and at different times in history. The bio information for each room and our game master will furnish you with all the information you need to pick the perfect room for your team.

Booking a room

We encourage our guests to book the escape rooms in advance so as to avoid last minute inconvenience. You can easily book a room for you and your team online. You can also book in person by coming to our facility on Beach Place. Booking is easy and will take less than five minutes of your time.

With your room booked in advance, you can go ahead and plan your day or evening together with your friends.

The pre-game experience

Once you and your entourage arrive at the facility, you will be treated to a little pre-game experience. You will have a chance to relax as you wait for your reserved time to set in. Once your game play time is on, you will meet your game master who will show you the rooms and explain the rules. You will also be treated to a short video which will show you what you’re expected to do inside the rooms. This will prepare you fully for your Escapology adventure.

Working the room

Once inside the escape room, it’s all about investigating the clues, solving the puzzles, and unlocking your door. The clues can be found anywhere, from the furniture, to the decor, to the files and props inside the room. Keep your eyes peeled and your mind alert. Also, it’s all about teamwork. You might not be able to do all this alone. However, when working together, success is just but a matter of time. The moment you connect all the dots and unlock the door is the moment you beat the room. And the sooner you can do this, the better.

The post-game experience

Once you’re done working your escape room, enjoy some drinks on the house. This is the perfect time to discuss with your friends what you just went through. Joke, laugh at your blunders, and have a blast. We’ll also give you a free photo for posterity.
